Lowell Cafe in West Hollywood, California

If you happen to be walking down North La Brea Avenue, you might catch a whiff of cannabis floating in the air. Don’t be alarmed, you’re probably right outside America’s first dine-in cannabis-friendly eatery; Lowell Cafe.

Ever wonder what it’s like to stop in a cafe in Amsterdam and puff on a joint? Now you have the opportunity to do just that. And you don’t have to travel across the pond, you can do it right here in the heart of West Hollywood.

Upon walking in, you’ll immediately be taken back by the relaxed atmosphere. Take a seat, kick back, and you’ll soon be approached by a “flower host.” This person will provide you with a menu filled with a variety of cannabis options – from joints to flowers. Admittedly, these options are quite pricey, but we can safely say they’re top-notch in terms of quality. Not to mention, if you happen to want to bring in your own cannabis, that’s also possible. However, there is a $20.00 USD “toke-age” fee.

From there, you’ll be approached by your standard waiter or waitress. S/he’ll give you a menu of their variety of gourmet foods and drinks. Again, these are a bit pricey, but you’ll taste where your money is going upon your first bite. We personally suggest the jalapeño mac-n-cheese bites sided with siracha sauce.

While Lowell Cafe is a bit too expensive to be a regular at, we definitely suggest giving it a try if you’re in the Los Angeles area.
