Promising Future for Cannabis Worldwide

We can all agree that this is quite the century for the flower. Everywhere you look, favorable legislations are being put in place to allow the use of cannabis for medicinal and/or recreational purposes.

Although puffing a blunt was somewhat demonized in the past, with the society associating it with harmful effects like psychosis and surging crime rates, scientists have now been able to intensively study this miraculous plant and separate the chaff from the grain.

Everything comes with its fair share of good and bad, but the numerous plus points emanating from cannabis are just too amazing to ignore.

The USA prides itself on being the land of the free, and in many states, medicinal cannabis use is legal and prevalent. A good number of states are also giving the nod to recreational herb where you can possess up to a certain amount per given time.

Recently, American flower lovers have so much to celebrate, especially those that watch spy movies when rocking to some heavy 420 sessions and visualize being the next Sherlock Holmes. Although the US intelligence community like the CIA and FBI have been locking out applicants who have used cannabis within the last year of application, this might change soon after the Senate passed a bill demanding the requirement scrapped.

American defense forces are also under heavy pressure to drop their hardline position on medical cannabis and consider it a suitable alternative to opioids, especially in managing chronic pain. Athletes have not been left behind either, with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency now diving into research on how herb affects athletic performance and if the laws can be made more friendly for team 420.

Shifting focus to Europe, the cannabis wave spreads like wildfire, with Spain being the latest entrant on the scene. The Spanish Health Commission and Congress of Deputies have given the green light for the rollout of hemp as an effective treatment option for managing conditions like endometriosis, cancer, chronic pain, and epilepsy.

Other European nations like Malta and Luxembourg are much ahead in the cycle, with adult Luxembourgers over 21 being allowed to home grow at most four cannabis plants, and Maltese people enjoying legal adult-use herb.

Interestingly, the seemingly conservative African continent hasn’t lagged behind in the raging legalization wave. Lesotho made history in 2017 when it issued a license for commercial hemp cultivation for scientific and medical purposes. Consequently, other countries such as Rwanda, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Uganda have followed suit.

An interesting case in point is the upcoming Kenyan presidential elections, where a relatively unknown candidate, George Wajackoyah of The Roots Party, has shot into overnight popularity after launching his manifesto that strongly advocates for the legalization of ganja.

The future has indeed never looked brighter for the holy herb as it is now. No matter how you prefer to ingest your cannabis, whether as gummies, drinks, or a good old-fashioned smoke, you can rest assured that the 420 wagon will only get ecstatic in days to come.
